During Jesus' earthly ministry he called many people to follow him. Many followed him immediately, some refused to follow him, and some seemed to be interested but had excuses. However, Jesus was not interested in having followers with other priorities and Christians today have the same mandate for him to be first in their lives. In the New Testament, there is a largely unknown character who makes a great impact on the world through his ministry. His name is Ananias. Now although in Scripture he only prays for one person, it just so happens that it is Saul of Tarsus who becomes the great Apostle Paul. One time in the Old Testament King Saul found himself in a hard situation where his obedience to God was tested. Unfortunately, he failed the test.
